Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market fell by INR 200/t d-o-d on 17 Jan 24, as per SteelMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 34,000/t exy. The demand of semi-finished and finished steel was low in yesterday’s session which coupled with limited trading activity in scrap prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
